Boscolo sure knows how to pick their hotels! As their hotel in Prague, Boscolo Budapest is located in an Italian Renaissance-style palace. The building from 1894 offers cozy but highly luxurious rooms for a pampered stay in Hungary’s romantic capital. The building is also home to the famous New York Café, which in itself is one of the must-see attractions Budapest has to offer!
It was clear from the start that staying in Boscolo Budapest was going to be a unique experience. Upon arrival, I was greeted by an employee who insisted on carrying the only luggage I had with me: a tiny backpack. I didn’t have to do a thing other than following him to the reception area. I could have found it on my own, but I appreciate the gesture! Staff at the reception were equally friendly and helpful. As soon as you arrive, you’re going to be impressed by the luxurious interior. The lobby is covered with a huge glass dome and is centrally located in the hotel in a way that you can look out into the lobby from the corridors. It’s even more impressive when they put the lights on at night.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served at the New York Café. You’ll have tons of options for breakfast, from a variety of eggs over fresh fruit to the obligatory sparkling-wine you would exprect in an upscale hotel like Boscolo Budapest.
I stayed in an exclusive room on one of the top floors of the hotel. The room is stylishly decorated in warm colors. It has a desk made of high-quality materials and a separate seating area.
Bathroom is huge! I honestly stayed in hotel rooms that were smaller than this bathroom. The marble screams ‘5-star hotel’. Bathroom has a separate bath and shower, which I found interesting because you don’t see that often.
Exclusive rooms range between 46-55 square meters and have a huge private terrace that guarantees stunning views over the city. Too bad it was pouring when I was there!
I still think about Boscolo anytime someone mentions Budapest. It really sets the bar for other 5-star-hotels. My stay was way too short but I honestly wish my travels lead me to Budapest again, just so I can book a second stay in this hotel!
